Rotary vane pumps have long been used in laboratory analytical instruments and experimentation since its original patenting. Despite significant improvements in pump technology over the years, the dry pump was not perfected until precision instrumentation in manufacturing processes provided for the fashioning of scroll technology.
Scientists and technicians quickly realized that dry pumps come with great benefits compared to oil-lubricated pumps. Dry vacuum pumps are now popularly used as fore pumps to turbo-molecular pumps in various labs and analytical applications. Our scroll pumps are ideal for these applications due to their 100% oil-free design, minimal vibration, low noise, and no fixed-interval maintenance.
Scroll pumps have a higher isentropic efficiency than the typical reciprocating compressor, as they do not have a dynamic discharge valve which causes throttling losses. The scroll compression process is nearly 100% volumetrically efficient for pumping trapped fluid.

Recommendation
For large sizes of rotary evaporators, vacuum ovens, and freeze dryers, we recommend SVF-100, SVF-300, SVFA and SVFB series pumping systems. Pumps with flow rates less than 50L/min, such as SVF-2, SVF-5, SVF-20, and SVF-50, are ideal for portable or desktop size equipment.
