Particulate impurities in the intake medium are one of the main causes for the premature wear of oil‑free vacuum pump internal components. Dust, metal powder and granular debris entering the pump cavity will scratch scroll tooth surfaces, abrade sealing parts and accelerate the wear of moving pairs, resulting in gradual vacuum attenuation and shortened equipment service life. Single‑stage filter often cannot meet the filtration requirements under complex working conditions, so graded inlet filter matching becomes an effective protective measure.

The graded filter system adopts multi‑stage interception structure. The primary filter is responsible for trapping large‑size coarse particles to avoid coarse impurities damaging subsequent fine filter elements. The secondary fine filter intercepts tiny dust particles according to the actual medium characteristics. Reasonably match the filtration accuracy of each stage to balance filtering effect and intake resistance, and prevent excessive filter resistance from reducing pumping speed and increasing pump load.

Carry out targeted configuration according to on‑site working conditions. For environments with heavy dust pollution, enhance the interception capacity of the primary filter. For working conditions containing fine powder, select filter media with high‑efficiency dust‑holding capacity. Optimize filter installation position and pipeline connection mode to avoid bypass air leakage caused by poor sealing at filter joints, which will cause unfiltered gas to directly enter the pump body.

Formulate regular inspection and replacement specifications for filter elements. With the accumulation of intercepted particles, filter elements will be blocked, bringing about increased intake pressure difference. Monitor the pressure difference change of the filter in operation. Replace or clean filter elements in time once the pressure difference exceeds the threshold value.

Reasonable graded inlet filter matching can effectively block particle pollution, reduce abrasive wear of scroll, bearing and sealing components inside the pump, maintain stable pumping performance for a long time, and extend the overall service cycle of oil‑free vacuum pump.
